This last week, the Board of Health and Board of County Commissioners made history by declaring September Suicide Prevention Month in Larimer County. I was honored to represent the Coroner's Office at the formal proclamation.
Suicide has been a very big part of my life. Having served in combat, I have seen too many young servicemen and women take their own lives. In my 13 years of service at the Larimer County Coroner's Office, I have cared for hundreds of families who have been shattered by suicide.
The Coroner's Office can play a role in Suicide Prevention. I have a vision for how our office can actually save lives. Please remember that we, as citizens, need to be alert and aware of how those around us are doing.
